<description>The political situation in the Seventh District is this:

1. The Democratic Party is alive and well, and produced robust efforts for Mark Warner and Barack Obama last year.

2. Those dissatisfied with the performance of Eric Cantor extend way beyond the Democratic faithful. He is an ultra-conservative Washington insider who has very little compassion for or connection to the daily concerns (job opportunities, the education our children receive, the cost of health care, fair taxes for the middle class, government that works for average folks) which most citizens in the district have.

3. Eric Cantor has never had big-league competition before. Charlie Diradour offers the potential for a well-run, well-financed, progressive grass roots campaign like the Seventh has never seen before.

The Seventh District of Virginia is the historical home of reknown American patriots. Today, we are positioned to surprise the nation by proving once again that concerned citizens can join together in a great cause -- even against challenging forces of money and power -- and make our lives better.

Run, Charlie, run.
